Coorgi Style

Coorgi Style is completely unique style of saree draping. It belongs to Karnataka state of India. It is also called Kodava Attire or Kodagu Style. Traditionally, women are used to wear a matching head scarf along with this saree style called Vastra. This style can be easily recongnised with its pallu and pleats.

This style of saree draping is linked with the Great Sage Agastya and his wife Cauvery. The legend has it that Cauvery transformed herself into a river to serve the people. The sage Agastya tried his best to stop his wife  and while doing so her saree pleats were pushed back. It was from that time that the women wear their sarees in the same way.

In this style pleats are not made in front. These are tucked in the back and pallu is taken under the arm and comes from back to front and neatly one corner is tucked on right side chest border. Pallu is kept short. This is the traditional style of Coorgi drape.

Nowadays as women are confortable with front pleats and want to wear this style, some variations has been made in this style. So try this style and get a new look!!!

Lehanga Style Saree

Nowdays Lehanga style sarees are making a hit. As you need not to make pleats or in many pallu pleats  are also done. These sarees are ready to wear. And while wearing a saree you will get a different look than wearing a saree.
But these sarees are limited to one style in which it comes. You cannot try various drape with same saree.  Fitting is also a problem. These are made according to standard size which does not fit to all.
Do you know you can wear your regular sarees in lehanga style as well? This style of saree draping is also very unique and an eye catcher. And gives different look to your regular saree.
This style is simple and absolutely hassle free as there is no pleats at front yet quite innovative. And transforms your traditional saree into a lehanga. You just need to wrap around your saree and pallu is needed to be done. If saree has contrat pallu or heavily decorated pallu then it increases the beauty of drape.
So give it a try this festive season...
